SCHOLARSHIP TENABLE IN REPUBLIC OF MAURITIUS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2019/2020

1.0 Call for Application

The General Public is hereby informed that, the Republic of Mauritius has opened the new scholarships for African Union States (Africa Scholarship Scheme Edition 2019) for the Academic year 2019/2020. The application form must be filled electronically, printed and signed. The hard copy should be submitted to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for nomination.

2.0Admission Requirements for the Scholarships
The applicant must submit the following documents:
·        Completed application form;
·        Certified copy of birth certificate;
·        Certified copies of relevant educational certificates and transcripts;
·        Study research plan (of about 750 words for Master’s and 1500 words for PhD applicants);
·        Medical certificate filled and stamped by registered medical practitioners in section 6 of the application form;
·        Certified copy of passport biodata page, if available;
·        For PhD applicants must provide evidence of support from the prospective supervisors from one of the Higher Education Institution(s) (HEIs) in Mauritius at the time of the application (the list of research themes/research interest can be obtained from the website of the different HEIs);
Qualification and Eligibility requirements.

 (i)Diploma programme.
Applicants must have either a minimum of five (5) credits at school certificate (S.C) or general Certificate of Education (G.C.E) O-level or international general Certificate of secondary Education(IGCSE) with a credit in English language.
·        The age limit for applicants should be above 18 years of age and should not reached 26 years by the closing date of application;
·        Should have TOEFL/IELTS (English Proficiency Test) certificate.

(ii) Undergraduate programme
    Applicants should have successfully completed Advance secondary school or Diploma and should satisfy the minimum pass should be division two at A-Level or Upper second for diploma award
·        The age limit for applicants should be above 18 years of age and should not reached 26 years by the closing date of application;
·        Should have TOEFL/IELTS (English Proficiency Test) certificate.

(iii) Master’s programme
Applicants should have successfully completed a Bachelor degree with at least an upper second class.
·        The age limit for applicants should not have reached 35 years;
·        Should have TOEFL/IELTS (English Proficiency Test) certificate.

(iv) Doctoral study programme
Applicant should have a master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field.
·        The age limit for PhD   applicants should not have reached 45 years by closing date of application;
·        Should have TOEFL/IELTS (English Proficiency Test) certificate.

NB: Any document which is not in English or French Language must be submitted with a certified translation in one of the two languages (i.e English or French)

SERIKALI IMEIMARISHA USIMAMIZI NA UDHIBITI WA MATUMIZI SALAMA YA TEKNOLOJIA YA NYUKLIA NCHINI



Serikali ya Tanzania kupitia Tume ya Nguvu za Atomiki Tanzania (TAEC) imefanikiwa kuimarisha usimamizi na udhibiti wa matumizi ya Teknolojia ya Nyuklia nchini.

Hayo yamesemwa na Naibu Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Tekenolojia Mheshimiwa William Ole Nasha wakati wa ufunguzi wa Mkutano wa kimataifa wa waratibu wa miradi ya Sayansi na Teknolojia ya Nyuklia kutoka nchi 46 wanachama wa Shirika la Kimataifa la Nguvu za Atomiki (IAEA) unaofanyika jijini Arusha.
Mkurugenzi wa Tume ya Nguvu za Atomiki Tanzania, Profesa Lazaro Busagala akitoa taarifa na neno la ukaribisho kwa Wajumbe wa Mkutano wa Kimataifa wa Waratibu wa Miradi ya Sayansi na Teknolojia ya Nyuklia kutoka nchi 46 wanachama wa Shirika la Kimataifa la Nguvu za Atomiki (IAEA).
Naibu Waziri Ole Nasha amesema Shirika hilo linafadhili miradi mingi katika sekta mbalimbali hapa nchini ikiwemo sekta ya afya ambapo imewezesha kupatikana kwa vifaa mbalimbali vya uchunguzi wa tiba na maradhi ya saratani ambavyo vimefungwa katika hospitali ya Rufaa ya kanda ya ziwa, Bugando jijini Mwanza na Hospitali ya Ocean Road jijini Dar es Salaam.
Naibu Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Mhe William Ole Nasha (Kushoto) akifurahia jambo na Mkurugenzi wa Shirika la Kimataifa la Nguvu za Atomiki, Profesa Shaukat Abdulrazak katika Mkutano huo.
Pamoja na vifaa vya uchunguzi katika hospitali hizo mbili, pia taasisi nyingine mbalimbali zimepata vifaa vya maabara ambapo kwa ujumla wake vifaa vyote vina thamani ya kiasi cha Shilingi za Tanzania Bilioni 6.2 na pia kutoa mafunzo kwa wataalamu katika eneo la matumizi ya mionzi na teknolojia ya Nyuklia, mpango ambao uligharimu Shilingi za Tanzania Bilioni 3.3.

Mhe Ole Nasha amelishukuru na kulipongeza shirika hilo kwa kuendelea kuimarisha ushirikiano baina ya mataifa wanachama hususan kwa utaratibu wake wa kuwa na mikutano inayowezesha kubadilishana uzoefu baina ya wanachama.  Amewataka washiriki wa mkutano huo kuhakikisha wanafanya majadiliano yenye tija kwa lengo la kusaidia nchi zao kwenye udhibiti na matumizi salama ya teknolojia ya Nyuklia.

Naibu Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Mhe William Ole Nasha akitoa hotuba ya ufunguzi wa Mkutano wa kimataifa wa Waratibu wa miradi ya Sayansi na Teknolojia ya Nyuklia kutoka nchi 46 za Kanda ya Afrika, wanachama wa Shirika la Kimataifa la Nguvu za Atomiki (IAEA).

“Majadiliano yenu yalenge katika kuhakikisha mionzi na teknolojia ya Nyuklia katika Afrika inatumika vizuri kwa maendeleo,” alisema Ole Nasha.

Mheshimiwa Naibu Waziri ametumia nafasi hiyo pia kuwakaribisha sana washiki nchini Tanzania na kuwashauri kutembelea vivutio vya kitalii zikiwemo Mbuga za wanyama.

Kwa upande wake Mkurugenzi wa Shirika la Nguvu za Atomiki Duniani (IAEA), Profesa Shaukat Abdulrazak amesema wataendelea kushirikiana na serikali ya Tanzania katika kuhakikisha kunakuwa na matumizi salama ya teknolojia ya Nyuklia kwenye sekta mbalimbali ikiwemo sekta ya Afya, Kilimo, Mifugo, Maji, Viwanda na Ujenzi.
Naibu Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Mhe William Ole Nasha akiwa katika picha ya pamoja na Washiriki wa Mkutano wa kimataifa wa Waratibu wa miradi ya Sayansi na Teknolojia ya Nyuklia kutoka katika nchi wanachama 46 wa Shirika la Kimataifa la Nguvu za Atomiki (IAEA).
Nae Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Tume ya Nguvu za Atomiki Tanzania, Profesa Lazaro Busagala amesema taasisi yake imeendelea kudhibiti na kuwachukulia hatua za kuwafungia taasisi zinazokiuka taratibu za matumizi salama ya mionzi na teknolojia ya Nyuklia hapa nchini ikiwemo kutokuwa na leseni, kutokuwa na wafanyakazi wenye utaalamu wa matumizi ya mionzi na teknolojia ya Nyuklia na Mionzi.
 
Naibu Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Mhe William Ole Nasha akisalimiana na Waziri Msaidizi, anayeshughulikia Mashirika ya Nje katika Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje nchini Liberia, Mhe Yaba Freeman Thompson ambaye pia ni Mratibu wa mradi nchini humo na mshiriki katika Mkutano wa kimataifa wa Waratibu wa miradi ya Sayansi na Teknolojia ya Nyuklia Kanda ya Afrika mara baada ya ufunguzi wa Mkutano huo.
Akitoa mfano wa Hospitali amesema mwaka 2018 walifungia hospitali 112 zilizoshindwa kufuata masharti hayo, katika hizi tayari hospitali 40 zimekidhi na kufunguliwa huku hospitali 72 zikiwa bado zimefungiwa kutumia vifaa vinavyotumia mionzi.

Mkutano huo wa siku tano utamalizika tarehe15 Machi, 2019.

BODI YA MIKOPO YA WANAFUNZI WA ELIMU YA JUU YATAKIWA KUBORESHA MIFUMO YA UOMBAJI MIKOPO

Naibu Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Mh. William Ole Nasha ameiagiza Bodi ya Mikopo ya Wanafunzi wa Elimu ya Juu  (HESLB) kuweka mifumo itakayowezesha vijana wengi kuomba mikopo ya kuwaendeleza kitaaluma kiurahisi.

Naibu Waziri Ole Nasha ametoa agizo hilo alipofanya kikao na watumishi wa Bodi hiyo jijini Dar es Salaam ambapo amesema kumekuwa na changamoto katika ujazaji wa fomu za maombi ya mikopo na kupelekea wengi kukosa mikopo hiyo.

"Bodi imekuwa ikifanya kazi nzuri sana katika suala zima la utoaji na ukusanyaji wa mikopo lakini  kuna changamoto katika ujazaji wa fomu za maombi ya mikopo wengi wanakosea sijui ni tatizo la taarifa ama elimu" amehoji Naibu Waziri.

 Naibu Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Mh. Wiliam Ole Nasha akiongea na watumishi wa Bodi ya Mikopo ya Wanafunzi wa Elimu ya Juu wakati wa kikao na watumishi hao ambapo amewaagiza kuweka mifumo rafiki ya uombaji mikopo ili kuwezesha vijana wengi zaidi kuomba mikopo.

Ole Nasha ameitaka Bodi hiyo kuendelea kutoa elimu na taarifa kwa umma kuhusu namna bora ya ujazji wa fomu hizo ili kupunguza changamoto hiyo na kuwezesha wanafunzi wengi zaidi kupata lakini na kuongeza ufanisi katika shughuli za kiutendaji katika Bodi.

Amesema pamoja na changamoto hiyo pia zipo changamoto kwa baadhi ya Maafisa mikopo katika vyuo ambao wamekuwa wakijifanya miungu watu jambo ambalo limekuwa likichelewesha upatikanaji wa mikopo kwa wanaostahili na kupelekea lawama kupelekwa kwa Bodi hiyo.

"Ni vyema pia kuangalia namna bora ya kuwapata Maafisa Mikopo katika vyuo kwani nao ni sehemu ya tatizo katika kutoa mikopo, kuna wengine wanawadai wanavyuo fedha ili washughulikie maombi yao" amesema Ole Nasha.
Naibu Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Mh. Wiliam Ole Nasha akiwa katika picha ya pamoja na baadhi ya watumishi wa Bodi ya Mikopo ya Wanafunzi wa Elimu ya Juu wakati wa kikao na watumishi hao.

Aidha, Naibu Waziri Ole Nasha ameipongeza  bodi kwa kufanya kazi nzuri katika urejeshaji wa Mikopo kwa kukusanya zaidi ya Sh.Bilioni 108 katika kipindi cha Julai 2018 hadi Januari 2019 ambapo lengo lilikuwa ni kukusanya kiasi cha shilingi bilioni 150 kwa mwaka 2018/19.

Awali Mkurugenzi wa Habari wa Bodi ya Mikopo Omega Ngolle alimweleza Naibu Waziri kuwa changamoto zinazokwamisha ama kuchelewesha utoaji wa mikopo ni kwa baadhi ya taasisi kuchelewa kuwasilisha taarifa za matokeo au kutoa taarifa zisizo sahihi kwa Bodi hiyo.
