KAMATI YA BUNGE YA KUDUMU YA HUDUMA NA MAENDELEO YA JAMII YARIDHISHWA NA MAENDELEO YA UKARABATI CHUO KIKUU ARDHI



Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge ya Huduma na Maendeleo ya Jamii imeipongeza serikali kwa kutoa fedha kiasi cha Shilingi Bilioni 2.5 za Mradi wa ukarabati na upanuzi wa miundombinu ya Chuo Kikuu Ardhi zilizotengwa katika bajeti ya mwaka 2018/19.
Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Prof. Joyce Ndalichako wakibadilishana mawazo na Kaimu Mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Bunge ya Kudumu ya Huduma na Maendeleo ya Jamii Mhe. Oscar Mukasa (MB) wakati Kamati hiyo ilipofanya ziara ya kukagua maendeleo ya utekelezaji wa mradi wa ukarabati na upanuzi wa miundombinu ya Chuo Kikuu Ardhi.
Pongezi hizo zimetolewa na Kaimu Mwenyekiti wa Kamati hiyo Mhe. Oscar Mukasa(MB) Jijini Dar es Salaam baada ya kukagua utekelezaji wa mradi wa ukarabati na upanuzi wa miundombinu hiyo ambayo ni ujenzi wa maabara, ukarabati wa karakana, nyumba za walimu, madarasa na kukamilisha ujenzi wa jengo la Lands.
Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Prof. Joyce Ndalichako na Mjumbe wa Kamati ya Bunge ya Kudumu ya Huduma na Maendeleo ya Jamii Suzan Lyimo (MB) wakifuatilia taarifa iliyokuwa ikiwasilishwa na Makamu Mkuu wa Chuo Kikuu Ardhi Prof. Evaristo Liwa (Hayupo pichani) wakati Kamati hiyo ilipofanya ziara ya kukagua maendeleo ya utekelezaji wa mradi wa ukarabati na upanuzi wa miundombinu ya Chuo hicho.
Aidha, Mhe. Mukasa pamoja na Kamati wameipongeza Wizara ya Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia kwa kusimamia utekelezaji wa Mradi kwa ubora na weledi mkubwa. Vilevile wamepongeza chuo hicho kwa kutumia vyema wataalamu wake kwenye kutekeleza kazi ya ujenzi.
Wajumbe wa Kamati ya Bunge ya Kudumu ya Huduma na Maendeleo ya Jamii wakipata maelezo ya maendeleo ya ukarabati wa Chuo Kikuu Ardhi kutoka kwa Makamu Mkuu wa Chuo Kikuu Ardhi.
Katika hatua nyingine Kamati imeshauri Serikali kutoa kipaumbele cha kukiendeleza kituo cha utoaji taarifa za viashiria vya majanga yanayoweza kusababishwa na Volcano na matetemeko ya ardhi katika eneo la Oldonyo Lengai. Aidha wameishauri Serikali kuhakikisha Kituo kinapata vifaa vitakavyokiwezesha kufanya kazi ya kutambua viashiria hivyo katika maeneo yote ya nchi na kutoa taarifa hizo.
Wajumbe wa Kamati ya Bunge ya Kudumu ya Huduma na Maendeleo ya Jamii wakiangalia baadhi ya kazi za mipango miji, usanifu majengo, upimaji na ramani zilizotengenezwa na wanafunzi wa Chuo Kikuu Ardhi ikiwa sehemu ya mafunzo kwa vitendo.
Awali Makamu Mkuu wa Chuo Kikuu Ardhi Prof. Evaristo Liwa, akitoa taarifa ya utekelezaji kwa Kamati amesema Mradi huo unaogharimu Shilingi Bilioni 2.5 kwa kiasi kikubwa umesimamiwa na wataalamu wa ndani ya Chuo hali ambayo imewezesha kupunguza gharama na ameishukuru Serikali kwa kutoa fedha kwa wakati .
Naibu Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Mhe. Wiliam Ole Nasha akiwaonyesha wajumbe wa Kamati ya Bunge ya Kudumu ya Huduma na Maendeleo ya Jamii madarasa yanayoendelea kukarabatiwa (Hayapo pichani) wakati Kamati hiyo ilipofanya ziara katika Chuo Kikuu Ardhi.
Nae Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi na Teknolojia Prof. Joyce Ndalichako ameishukuru Kamati hiyo kwa kutembelea mradi na ameahidi kusimamia kwa ukaribu utekelezaji wa maelekezo yaliyotolewa na Kamati.
Makamu Mkuu wa Chuo Kikuu Ardhi Prof. Evaristo Liwa akitoa maelezo ya ndege ndogo isiyo na rubani (Drone) inayotumika kwa ajili ya kuchukua picha anga za maeneo mbalimbali kwa ajili ya kupanga miji, kupima miji, kusaidia wakati wa majanga kama mafuriko na utafiti mbalimbali. Hii ni moja ya jitihada za Chuo Kikuu Ardhi kuboresha teknolojia katika kufundisha na kutatua matatizo katika jamii.

CALL FOR UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLASHIP AT KYUNGDONG UNIVERSITY GLOBAL CAMPUS, SOUTH KOREA
 (SEPTEMBER 2019 INTAKE)

A: INTRODUCTION
                The Inter University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), wishes to announces a call for applications for Undergraduate Scholarship to study at the Kyungdong University, South Korea, commencing in September 2019 for Bachelor’s degree.

B.  Scholarship Description:

(i)          Duration:  The duration of this Scholarship is 4 years until
       completion of the degree programme, subject to
       satisfactory    performance in each year of study.
(ii) Study Areas: Scholarships are awarded to study Bachelors
         degree in Smart Computing, Hotel Management and Business
        Administration.
(iii)                       Language of Instruction: English

(iv)                      Scholarships Award:     

Ø Kyungdong University’s scholarships for each selected student will cover the following: -

v Tuition fees for all 4 years.
v Accommodation.

Ø IUCEA Will provide:

v Return Air ticket at the beginning and end of every two years;
v Provide Health Insurance per year.

Ø Parent/Guardian of selected students will meet other living expenses per month. The government will not be responsible for any additional expenses.

C: Eligibility for the Scholarship

Nationality/Countries
Scholarships will be awarded to applicants (citizens and residents) of East Africa Community Partner states (Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya and Burundi)

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the following criteria.
(i)               Be a citizen of and resident in any of the East Africa Community Partner States (Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya and Burundi);
(ii)             Have completed A-level or Diploma during the 2017or 2018 academic year with good performance.
(iii)          Subject areas and combination should include: Mathematics and English;
(iv)          Have minimum grade of B in Mathematics and English.
(v)             English Language Requirements: Be proficient in English.  Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.  The admission requirement for non-English speakers is the IELTS 5.5 on IBT 71.
(vi)          Applicants should not be more than 22 years of age.

D.  Application procedure:

               Interested applicants should submit either electronically or hard       copies of the following documents to IUCEA office in Kampala, Uganda
(i)               Letter of application to the Executive Secretary of IUCEA;
(ii)             Completed application form;
(iii)          Recent passport – size photograph;
(iv)          Comprehensive curriculum Vitae including names and contacts of two referees.  One of these references should be the Head of the School/Institution where the student has completed his/her secondary education/diploma;
(v)             Certified copies of school/diploma certificates and transcripts;
(vi)          Certified copy of bio – data page of Passport or copy of National Identity Card.

Note: Candidates who have been awarded certificates by accredited school/Institutions which issued academic documents in languages other than English shall submit English translation of all supporting documents including, but not limited to Transcript and diploma.
Academic levels or equivalence of the qualifications obtained from foreign school/Institutions must be equated by the National Council or Commission for Higher Education in respective Partner State.

E: Submission

Applications should adhere to the following procedures:
(i)               Download the relevant application form from the IUCEA website: www.iucea.org. Under the link “Application Form – IUCEA – KDU Scholarships;
(ii)             Submit the required documents indicated above;
(iii)          The applications should be submitted in hard or electronic copy to the address hereunder.

Deadline for submission

Completed application form and all the above required documents MUST be submitted by 25th March 2019 either electronically as PDF documents (in one folder) or hard copies to IUCEA).
